What oF Means
On a Dacor column refrigerator or column freezer (DRR and DRZ 980 series), “oF” in the temperature display means Cooling Off mode, which Dacor also calls Shop mode. The fans and lights keep working but the compressor does not run, so the column never gets cold. It is designed for showroom floors.
Common Causes of oF
- Cooling Off mode switched on by pressing the three-key combination
- Column left in Shop mode by the dealer
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Use the button combination Dacor prints for your column: on the refrigerator column, press and hold Deodorizer Reset, Filter Reset and Override together for 5 seconds; on the freezer column, Cocktail Ice, Standard Ice and Filter Reset. The chime sounds and the display returns to the temperature.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- There is nothing to repair. If the column stays warm after Cooling Off is exited and a few hours pass, then the cooling system needs a check.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
