What OFF Means

On Dacor’s built-in French door refrigerators, the 36-, 42- and 48-inch DRF models, a flashing “OFF” in the temperature display means Cooling Off mode. The compressor stays off while lights and fans run.

Common Causes of OFF

  • Cooling Off mode switched on

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Dacor gives two button sets depending on the control type. Type A: hold AutoFill Pitcher, Whisky Ball Ice and Control Lock together for 5 seconds. Type B: hold Ice Maker, Filter Reset and Control Lock for 5 seconds. Repeat the same combination to exit.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • No repair is involved unless the refrigerator stays warm after the mode is off.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Look at the panel. If it has AutoFill Pitcher and Whisky Ball Ice keys, use Type A; otherwise Type B.

Check the internal temperature once cooling resumes; discard perishables that sat above safe temperature.
