What Blinking lights Means
When one or more indicator lights on a Dacor warming drawer blink on and off steadily, the control has detected an error. Dacor lists four: #1 temperature error, #2 sensor error, #3 key pad error and #4 control error. The current DWR30U900W blinks at half-second intervals; the Heritage HWD models at one-second intervals.
Common Causes of Blinking lights
- Heating element or thermostat circuit out of range (temperature error)
- Temperature sensor failed (sensor error)
- Touch key pad or control board failure
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Reset the control as Dacor directs: disconnect power (unplug the drawer or switch its breaker off), wait 20 seconds and reconnect. If the lights still blink, call for service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The drawer has to be removed from its slides and the chassis pulled out to reach the element, sensor and control.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
