What F2 Means

F2 means the ERC has detected runaway heat: the oven went past its temperature limits. The control beeps until you cancel or pick another function. Dacor’s sheet directs the check to a stuck relay first, then the oven sensor and its wiring.

Common Causes of F2

  • Element relay stuck closed
  • Oven sensor reading low so the control overheats the cavity
  • Damaged sensor wiring

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Cancel, turn the oven off and let it cool with the door shut. Do not run a self-clean to test it. If F2 repeats, keep the breaker off until service.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Checking for a stuck relay means measuring element voltage with the oven energized.
  • An oven that overheats unchecked can damage its door gasket, insulation and surrounding cabinets.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F2 FAQ

Keep it off and book service. F2 is a protective shutdown, but the cause is still in place.

Dacor’s sheet suggests running a full clean cycle without any alarm once the part is replaced, and we do that before leaving.
