What F7 Means

F7 relates to the self-clean door lock. The ERC shows it, with beeping, when it detects a problem in the clean-lock or phase circuitry for 16 seconds in a row. Dacor’s diagnostic manual groups F-7 and F-8 as the door failure codes for classic wall ovens and ranges.

Common Causes of F7

  • Door lock switch failing or misadjusted
  • Door out of adjustment
  • Latch wiring loose

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Make sure the door is fully closed and nothing is caught in it. Cancel, let the oven cool, and try again once. If F7 repeats, stop using self-clean until the latch is checked.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Dacor’s manual checks the latch switches by wire color at the switch block, with the top trim removed.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F7 FAQ

Usually yes. The code concerns the locking circuit.

Not by itself. Switches and door adjustment are checked first; F8 points more at the motor.
