What ERROR Means
The word ERROR on a Dacor microwave, whether a Microwave-In-A-Drawer (DMR24M977, DMR30M977), the DMW2420S or DCM24S countertop models or the PCOR30S over-the-range unit, usually is not a failure. The manuals show it for an invalid clock time, a quantity or weight outside the allowed range, or when a sensor program does not detect vapor from the food and turns the oven off.
Common Causes of ERROR
- Clock or weight entered outside the allowed range
- Sensor cooking of a small or tightly sealed portion that releases too little vapor
- Humidity sensor failing if ERROR appears on every sensor program
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Touch STOP/CLEAR and re-enter the setting within the range the manual allows. For sensor programs, cover the dish as the manual recommends and start with food at normal refrigerator temperature. If ERROR appears every time with correct entries, book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Testing the humidity sensor means opening the microwave cabinet, where the high-voltage capacitor can hold a lethal charge.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
