What F1 Means
F1 is the ERC’s watchdog alarm. Dacor’s Tec-Line sheet says the self-diagnostic circuitry has found a failure in the bake/broil system, and that the ERC, relay board, touch pad, heating elements or the wiring between them can be responsible. It is a broad code that narrows the search rather than naming one part.
Common Causes of F1
- Membrane keypad sending a false signal
- Relay board failing to switch an element correctly
- ERC control board failure
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press Cancel. If the beeping continues or F1 comes back, switch the breaker off and leave the oven unused until it can be tested.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Dacor’s procedure disconnects the membrane first, then checks 24 VDC at specific ERC pins while F1 is showing; it is a live diagnostic.
- Because several parts can trigger F1, swapping the ERC blindly often fails.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
