What Blinking lights Means

When one or more indicator lights on a Dacor warming drawer blink on and off steadily, the control has detected an error. Dacor lists four: #1 temperature error, #2 sensor error, #3 key pad error and #4 control error. The current DWR30U900W blinks at half-second intervals; the Heritage HWD models at one-second intervals.

Common Causes of Blinking lights

  • Heating element or thermostat circuit out of range (temperature error)
  • Temperature sensor failed (sensor error)
  • Touch key pad or control board failure

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Reset the control as Dacor directs: disconnect power (unplug the drawer or switch its breaker off), wait 20 seconds and reconnect. If the lights still blink, call for service.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • The drawer has to be removed from its slides and the chassis pulled out to reach the element, sensor and control.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Blinking lights FAQ

Dacor’s manual lists the four error types without mapping them to a visible pattern, so the technician confirms it.

Reset it once; if the lights keep blinking, leave it off until checked.
