What Flashing temperature Means
On the Dacor HWC241 and HWC242 undercounter wine cellars, a flashing temperature display with an alarm means the temperature is outside its set range. If the alarm sounds but the display is steady, it is the door alarm instead, for a door open more than 60 seconds.
Common Causes of Flashing temperature
- Door opened frequently or left ajar
- Front vent blocked or dirty
- Cooling system not reaching temperature
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press the ON/OFF key once to silence the alarm; the display keeps flashing until the set temperature is reached. Keep the door closed, clear the front vent and check the unit is level. After first switch-on, flashing is normal until the cellar cools.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the display keeps flashing for a day with the door closed and the vent clean, the compressor, fan or sensor needs testing.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
