What C2 Means

C2 concerns the IGBT sensor, the temperature sensor on the power transistors that drive the induction coils. The DTI cooktop manual lists it as open; the DOP30T940IS range lists open or shorted. The cooktop protects its power electronics by refusing to run that circuit.

Common Causes of C2

  • IGBT sensor or inverter board failure
  • Overheating of the inverter because the cooling fan or vents are blocked

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Turn the cooktop off and on again, then cut power for at least 30 seconds if needed. Check that the cooling vents under the cooktop, inside the cabinet, are not blocked by stored items.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • The inverter board handles high current and stores charge; it is tested only by a trained technician with the power off.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
