What A2 Means
A2 is the cooling fan code on Dacor induction cooktops and on the cooktop of the DOP30T940IS induction range. Dacor says it occurs when the DC fan motor cannot operate because of a board or wiring defect, or because something blocks the fan blade.
Common Causes of A2
- Fan blade blocked by debris
- Fan motor or its wiring failed
- Board output to the fan
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the cooktop off and check under it, from inside the cabinet, for anything that could be pressing on the fan housing or blocking the vents. Do not open the housing. If A2 persists, call for service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The fan is inside the cooktop body, next to the inverter boards; the unit is lifted out of the counter for this repair.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
