What C-31 Means
C-31 means the control board is running too hot. Unlike most codes in Dacor’s table, the listed solution for C-31 is simply to call for service, because an overheating board usually means the cooling system around it is not doing its job.
Common Causes of C-31
- Cooling fan not running or running slowly
- Oven installed with insufficient ventilation in the cabinet cutout
- Board sensor reporting high because it is failing
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the oven off and let it cool. Check that the vent slots around the oven door and the trim are clear. Dacor does not give an owner reset for this one, so book service rather than repeatedly restarting the oven.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Checking the cooling fan means pulling the oven out; the fan sits above the cavity.
- Running an oven whose electronics are overheating can damage the board and the wiring around it.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
