What C23 Means
C23 means the control board on a Renaissance EOR/MOR wall oven is too hot. The service guide sets the limit at 80°C (176°F) ambient at the board: the oven shuts down and runs its cooling fans until the board area falls to 50°C (122°F).
Common Causes of C23
- Cooling fan weak or stopped
- Door seal or insulation letting cavity heat reach the control area
- Board-mounted thermistor reading high
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Leave the oven off and let the fans run; do not cut power while they are cooling the controls. Once it has cooled, check that the vent openings around the door are not blocked. If C23 keeps returning, book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Finding the heat source means running the oven with covers off and measuring temperatures, which is technician work.
- Repeated overheating cooks the control board and its connectors.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
