What C33 Means
C33 is the relay board overheat code. Dacor’s Renaissance service guide sets it at 80°C at the relay board, with the oven shutting down and cooling until 50°C. The Heritage wall oven manual adds the everyday cause: leaving the door open during cooking or broiling lets heat pour over the controls and trips C33.
Common Causes of C33
- Door left open during broiling so hot air reaches the relay board
- Cooling fan not moving enough air
- Relay board thermistor reading high
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Close the door and let the oven cool until C33 resets, as the Heritage manual describes. Avoid broiling with the door open for long periods. If C33 appears with the door shut, the cooling side of the oven needs checking.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The relay board carries the element switching at 240 volts; measuring it under load is not an owner task.
- If the cooling fan is the cause, the fix means removing the oven from its cutout.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
