What C-24 Means

C-24 is Dacor’s blocked oven vent code, listed on the Transitional ranges such as the DOP36T86DLS and the 30-inch DOP30T840GS. The manual explains it plainly: an oven vent or air passage is blocked, most often by aluminum foil or other material.

Common Causes of C-24

  • Aluminum foil lining the oven bottom or covering vent openings
  • Large pot or griddle sitting over the oven vent on the cooktop
  • Blocked internal air path if the code returns with nothing obstructing it

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

This is one Dacor expects owners to fix. With the range off and cool, open the oven door for at least 60 seconds, then disconnect power or press the Off key to reset. Remove any aluminum foil from the oven floor or racks and anything covering the vent at the back of the cooktop.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • If C-24 keeps returning with the vents clear, the airflow path or fan inside the range needs to be inspected.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
