What C-d1 Means
C-d1 is the door-lock code on Samsung-built Dacor wall ovens. The control expected the motorized lock to be in one position and its switch reports another, so the oven will not start or finish a self-clean and may refuse other modes until the lock position is confirmed.
Common Causes of C-d1
- Power interrupted while the lock motor was moving during a self-clean
- Lock motor or its position switch failing
- Door out of alignment so the latch cannot travel fully
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Dacor’s instruction is a restart sequence: press OFF and start the oven again, and if the code persists, switch the oven off at the breaker for at least 30 seconds before restoring power. Make sure nothing is caught in the door and that the door closes flush. If C-d1 survives the breaker reset, stop there.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The lock assembly sits above the oven cavity behind the top trim; the oven has to come partly out of the wall to reach it.
- Forcing a locked door after a self-clean can bend the latch hook or crack the door glass, and the cavity may still be very hot.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
