What U80 Means
U80 means the meat probe in the upper oven of a Renaissance EOR/MOR wall oven reads shorted. It concerns the probe and its jack, not the oven’s own temperature control.
Common Causes of U80
- Damaged probe cable
- Moisture in the probe jack
- Shorted jack wiring
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the probe, dry the plug and jack, and check the cable for heat damage. Run the oven without the probe; if U80 clears, replace the probe.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the jack itself is shorted, the repair is behind the cavity wall.
