What C76 Means
C76 appears when the Renaissance control senses the wrong oven configuration, single versus double. Dacor’s guide says the code shows after three seconds of seeing an incorrect configuration and calls it reversible, so it usually follows a board swap or disturbed wiring rather than a failure.
Common Causes of C76
- Replacement control not configured for the oven it was fitted to
- Lower-oven harness disconnected on a double oven
- Configuration input on the board failing
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If a control board was recently replaced, the installer should confirm the configuration setting. Otherwise, a breaker reset is worth one try.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Setting the oven type and checking the lower-oven harness are done from behind the control panel.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
