What F2 Means
F2 means the ERC has detected runaway heat: the oven went past its temperature limits. The control beeps until you cancel or pick another function. Dacor’s sheet directs the check to a stuck relay first, then the oven sensor and its wiring.
Common Causes of F2
- Element relay stuck closed
- Oven sensor reading low so the control overheats the cavity
- Damaged sensor wiring
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Cancel, turn the oven off and let it cool with the door shut. Do not run a self-clean to test it. If F2 repeats, keep the breaker off until service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Checking for a stuck relay means measuring element voltage with the oven energized.
- An oven that overheats unchecked can damage its door gasket, insulation and surrounding cabinets.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
