Dacor Classic Wall Oven F8 Error Code

F8 is the door locking switch alarm. Dacor’s sheet says it appears when the lock motor has run for two minutes without the phase switch changing position, which normally happens right after a clean cycle is started.

What F8 Means

F8 is the door locking switch alarm. Dacor’s sheet says it appears when the lock motor has run for two minutes without the phase switch changing position, which normally happens right after a clean cycle is started.

Common Causes of F8

  • Latch motor not turning
  • Phase switch not changing state
  • Broken wire between the latch and the ERC

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Cancel the clean cycle and wait for the oven to cool. Do not restart self-clean repeatedly; each attempt runs the motor against the same problem.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • The latch assembly is above the oven cavity and reached through the top of the oven.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F8 FAQ

Let the oven cool fully and switch the breaker off and on. If it stays locked, call us rather than forcing it.

It can be either. The technician checks the lock of the oven that was cleaning.
