What C-d1 Means
C-d1 on a Dacor range points at the oven door lock. The control lost track of where the motorized lock is, so it blocks self-clean and often every oven mode until the lock is confirmed. On the 48-inch DOP models it concerns the large oven, which is the one that self-cleans.
Common Causes of C-d1
- Power lost during a self-clean while the lock was moving
- Lock motor or switch failure
- Door hinge worn so the door sits out of line with the latch
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the mode and temperature knobs to Off and restart the oven. If C-d1 stays, switch the range’s breaker off for at least 30 seconds and back on, as Dacor’s manual directs. Check that the door closes squarely and the gasket is not folded.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The lock is under the cooktop, behind the oven’s top trim; access on a range means lifting the cooktop.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
