What F1 Means

F1 on a classic Dacor range is the ERC’s watchdog alarm: something in the bake and broil system is not behaving the way the control expects. Dacor lists the ERC, relay board, touch pad, heating elements and wiring as possible sources. On gas ERG and EGR ranges the bake and broil system includes the igniter circuits.

Common Causes of F1

  • Keypad membrane sending false signals
  • Relay board or igniter circuit problem
  • ERC failure

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Press Cancel. If the alarm keeps sounding for 30 seconds or returns, switch off the range’s breaker and arrange service.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Dacor’s procedure measures 24 VDC at ERC pins with the alarm showing, a live test in the backguard.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

FAQ

F1 FAQ

F1 is an electronic alarm; the burners and gas valve are separate. It still needs diagnosis.

Yes. Dacor’s first test step is to disconnect the membrane and see whether F1 returns.
