What F4 Means
F4 is the open-sensor alarm on classic Dacor ranges. Dacor warns that with an open sensor the bake modes may not start at all and the controls can seem unresponsive, sometimes with a strange number on the display.
Common Causes of F4
- Sensor open
- Loose connector at the ERC
- Broken wire
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
A breaker reset is worth one try. If the oven still refuses to bake, the sensor circuit needs testing.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Measuring the sensor at the ERC connector means removing the backguard.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
