What F0 Means
On the older Dacor wall ovens with an ERC clock control, the Epicure ECS/ECD, Millennia MCS/MCD and Preference PCS/PCD families, F0 (often shown as F-0) means a shorted or jammed input device. Dacor’s Tec-Line sheet names shorted wires or a defective membrane switch; its diagnostic manual adds that F-0 also appears if a technician’s key test is left unfinished for 30 seconds.
Common Causes of F0
- Keypad membrane shorted at one key
- Membrane ribbon cable damaged where it enters the ERC
- Wiring short behind the control panel
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the keypad for a key that stays down, clean around the keys with a damp cloth and dry them, then turn the oven’s breaker off for a minute and back on. If F0 returns on a dry, clean keypad, the membrane needs testing.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Dacor’s membrane test is done with an ohmmeter at the ribbon connector on the back of the ERC.
- Membranes for these ovens are model-specific and are matched to the color of the panel.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
