What F:42 Means
F:42 is a thermistor error on DDW24S and RDW24 dishwashers: the thermistor stopped communicating with the control, or it reports more than 80°C (176°F). The cycle continues, and the code shows only in the service menu.
Common Causes of F:42
- Thermistor failed
- Loose plug or harness
- Control unit input
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
No owner steps beyond noting whether washes feel unusually hot or cold. Book service if cleaning results change.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Dacor checks the thermistor, plugs, wire harness and control unit, which requires opening the base.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
