Dacor Dishwasher HC Error Code

HC is the heating check on current Dacor dishwashers. Dacor calls it a high-temperature heating check and has the owner run a functional test before calling for service.

What HC Means

HC is the heating check on current Dacor dishwashers. Dacor calls it a high-temperature heating check and has the owner run a functional test before calling for service.

Common Causes of HC

  • Heater or its thermostat failing
  • Temperature sensor reading incorrectly
  • Incoming water much hotter than specified

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

With the dishwasher empty, add detergent and run a cycle, as Dacor instructs. If HC appears again, switch the dishwasher’s breaker off and contact service.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • The heater and sensor sit in the sump or under the tub, reached with the dishwasher out.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
