What C-31 Means
C-31 means the control board in the range really is overheating. Dacor’s only instruction is to call for service. On a range, heavy use of the burners and oven together is when the electronics are under the most heat.
Common Causes of C-31
- Cooling fan not running
- Vent blocked so hot air stays around the board
- Board sensor drifting high
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Switch the oven off, leave the burners off and let the range cool. Make sure the backguard vent and any island trim are not blocked. Then book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Testing the cooling fan and air path means opening the range with it pulled from the counter.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
