The DOB30M977S is Dacor’s 30-inch Contemporary single wall oven with steam, 4.8 cu. ft. inside and a Pure Convection system paired with steam-assisted roasting and baking. Because it carries a water tank and a steam generator as well as a self-cleaning cavity, most of the calls we get on it split between the steam side (codes C-70 and C-72) and the ordinary oven side (sensor code C-20, lock code C-d1).
Steam problems on this oven are rarely sudden. Scale builds up when the descale prompt is dismissed, and the drain step starts failing a few months later. We check the tank seating and the drain path before condemning the pump.
