What C-A2 Means
C-A2 is the cooling motor code. Dacor’s manual says the cooling motor is operating abnormally and the solution is to call for service. That motor pushes air across the electronics and the door, so a Dacor wall oven without it quickly overheats its own controls.
Common Causes of C-A2
- Cooling fan motor bearings worn or seized
- Debris in the fan housing
- Fan wiring or control output failing
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Switch the oven off. With the oven cool, listen at the next start for the steady hum of the cooling fan behind the top vent; a grinding or silent fan confirms the code. There is no owner reset listed, so book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The cooling fan sits above the oven cavity; replacing it means pulling the oven from the wall.
- Continuing to cook with the fan down risks C-31 board overheating and damaged wiring.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
