What C01 Means
On Renaissance-era Dacor wall ovens (EORS, EORD, MORS, MORD and related models), C01 is a shorted key. Dacor’s service guide says the control shows it when it has not seen a key released for two minutes, so it thinks a button is being held down.
Common Causes of C01
- Keypad membrane worn through or delaminating at one key
- Moisture under the membrane from cleaning spray
- Membrane ribbon connector at the control damaged
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Look at the keypad for anything pressing on it and for a key that feels sunken or sticky. Clean the membrane with a barely damp cloth and dry it. Switching the breaker off for a minute and back on will tell you whether the code returns by itself.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Dacor’s service guide tests the membrane key by key with a meter at its connector, behind the control panel.
- A membrane that reads a false press can change settings or start a mode by itself.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
