What C-21 Means
C-21 means the oven in a Dacor range got hotter inside than it should. The DOP48T960G gas range manual says outright that the oven is overheating and to call for service; the transitional dual-fuel manual gives the restart and breaker steps first.
Common Causes of C-21
- Oven vent at the rear of the cooktop blocked
- Element relay or gas valve control stuck on
- Sensor reading low
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn everything off and let the range cool with the oven door closed. Check that the oven vent at the back of the cooktop is not covered by a pan or foil. If C-21 returns, stop using the oven.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- On a gas range the overheating could involve the oven burner valve, which is gas work.
- On a dual-fuel range the relay board switches 240 volts to the elements.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
