5C is the drain check. Dacor’s manual tells owners to close the water supply valve and then look at two places: the drain hose for clogs or folds, and the drain hole inside the pump for blockage.

What 5C Means

5C is the drain check. Dacor’s manual tells owners to close the water supply valve and then look at two places: the drain hose for clogs or folds, and the drain hole inside the pump for blockage.

Common Causes of 5C

  • Clogged filter or debris in the drain opening
  • Kinked drain hose or blocked disposal inlet
  • Drain pump failure

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Close the water supply valve. Take out the filter assembly, clean it, and look into the drain opening for glass, bones or labels. Check the drain hose under the sink and the garbage disposal knockout if the disposal is new. Restart.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • If the filter and hose are clear, the drain pump is next, and it is reached from under the machine.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
