What C-70 Means
C-70 applies to Dacor’s dual-fuel steam ranges, such as the DOP36M86D, DOP36C86D, DOP48C96D and DOP36T86DLS. The steam sensor reads open or shorted, so the control cannot manage steam-assisted cooking.
Common Causes of C-70
- Steam generator sensor failed
- Scale or leakage affecting the sensor
- Sensor wiring damaged
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn both knobs to Off and restart. If needed, cut power for 30 seconds or more. Check that the water reservoir is seated and dry around its opening. Use dry modes only if C-70 returns.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The steam generator sits behind the oven cavity of the range, reached from the back.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
