Dacor’s range lineup today centers on the Contemporary and Transitional design lines, sold in 30, 36 and 48-inch widths with dual-fuel or induction configurations, sealed brass burners on the gas side and a griddle option on the wider models. The Modernist Collection sits above that as the flagship line, pairing a graphite stainless finish with a Pro Dual Fuel Steam Range that adds true steam cooking to the standard oven cavity. Just as many of the ranges we see in American kitchens are older Dacor Professional Series models, built on a separate control platform years before Samsung owned the brand.
We start from the model and serial numbers stamped on the door frame or printed on a plate behind the storage drawer, because a fix that suits a current Contemporary dual-fuel range does not carry over to a Professional Series range built a decade or more earlier. Burner complaints are traced to the igniter, the burner valve and the gas orifice before any part is ordered; a temperature complaint on the oven side is checked against a separate thermometer rather than trusted to the dial, since a failing control board and a failing sensor can look identical from the kitchen but call for different parts.
With the range isolated at the breaker, and the gas supply shut off wherever gas parts are involved, the control panel, oven sensor, burner valves and igniter assemblies can be reached from behind and underneath the unit. Sealed burner and gas-line work is technician-only; if a range ever smells of gas, the controls are left alone, the gas supply is shut off, and the house is aired out before anyone calls for service.
Common Ranges Problems
A burner that clicks steadily but never lights, or lights late with a small flare-up
One sealed gas burner running weak and yellow while the rest of the cooktop burns normal blue
An oven that heats but consistently over- or under-shoots the temperature set on the dial or display
An F-code such as F0 or F1 on the display, with baking or broiling stopped
An induction range that will not power on, or a cooking zone that will not recognize a pan that works on other burners
A self-clean cycle that finishes with the oven door still locked
Ranges Error Codes
Recognize a code on your display? Look it up before you unplug anything or attempt a repair.

Why Trust Us With Your Dacor Appliance & Repair Ranges
- Confirmed Before It's Charged | We do not put a ranges part on your bill on a hunch. It goes on the estimate once the technician has watched it fail an actual test.
- Stocked For ranges Repairs | The parts that give out most often on a Dacor ranges ride along in the van, so most visits wrap up in a single trip. A part that is less common gets ordered specifically for your model.
- Your Model, Not a Guess | Dacor has revised its control platforms across the Renaissance, Millennia, Epicure, Distinctive, Discovery, Contemporary, Transitional and Modernist lines, and a ranges fix built for one generation can be the wrong fix for another. Sending a photo of the model and serial label when you book clears that up before we arrive.
- Honest About Age | When an older ranges is not worth repairing, we tell you plainly, even though it is the one answer that loses us the job.
