Dacor’s current dishwasher is a 24-inch model sold panel-ready or in stainless, offered with a Smart Control option across the Contemporary and Modernist lines. Older Epicure and Millennia-era dishwashers, sold under the EDW and MDW model families, remain in service in homes that have not replaced their kitchen appliances as a set, and their pumps, filters and control boards are sourced against those specific models.

Dishes left dirty or gritty, or standing water at the start of a new load, are traced to the filter and the drain pump before anything upstream is suspected – a blocked filter is the most common finding and the least expensive to fix. A cycle that stops with a code on the display is read against Dacor’s own dishwasher code list rather than a similar-looking code from another appliance type, since the same characters mean different things across appliance lines.

With the dishwasher isolated at its breaker and the water supply shut off where a leak is involved, the door latch, gasket, pump and heating element are reached from inside the tub and from underneath the unit. A leak at the door is treated as a stop-and-call situation rather than something to keep running loads around, since water reaching the cabinetry below turns a dishwasher repair into a floor and cabinet repair.

Common Dishwashers Problems

01

Dishes coming out with a film or grit left on them despite a full cycle

02

Standing water in the base of the tub at the start of a new load

03

A cycle that stops partway through with an error shown on the display

04

Water leaking from underneath the door during the wash or dry portion of the cycle

05

A door latch that will not catch, or that lets the cycle start before it feels fully closed

06

Unusually loud grinding or rattling partway through the wash

Why Trust Us With Your Dacor Appliance & Repair Dishwashers

  • Confirmed Before It's Charged | We do not put a dishwashers part on your bill on a hunch. It goes on the estimate once the technician has watched it fail an actual test.
  • Stocked For dishwashers Repairs | The parts that give out most often on a Dacor dishwashers ride along in the van, so most visits wrap up in a single trip. A part that is less common gets ordered specifically for your model.
  • Your Model, Not a Guess | Dacor has revised its control platforms across the Renaissance, Millennia, Epicure, Distinctive, Discovery, Contemporary, Transitional and Modernist lines, and a dishwashers fix built for one generation can be the wrong fix for another. Sending a photo of the model and serial label when you book clears that up before we arrive.
  • Honest About Age | When an older dishwashers is not worth repairing, we tell you plainly, even though it is the one answer that loses us the job.
FAQ

Dishwashers Repair FAQ

A small amount of water left after the last cycle can be normal on some models, but water that has clearly been sitting there - cloudy, with debris in it - usually means the drain path is partly blocked or the drain pump is not clearing the tub fully. Leave it as is rather than bailing it out yourself before a technician has seen it, since the standing water itself is a useful clue.

Running the cycle again rarely clears a code and can mean repeating whatever tripped it. Write the exact code down, leave the dishwasher off and the door closed, and have the model number from the tub’s inner door edge ready when you call, since dishwasher codes on Dacor’s own list do not carry the same meaning as similar-looking codes on other appliance types.

No - stop running the dishwasher until it has been checked. A door-seal or door-latch leak can get worse with each cycle and puts water into the cabinetry and flooring underneath, which is a bigger repair than the dishwasher itself if it continues.
